Dr. Shah says that the best thing about his job as a Charlotte dentist is knowing that he is providing his patients with the highest level of dentistry available. There isn't a better feeling than changing someone’s life because they are no longer embarrassed by their smile or in pain. Dentistry can bring a patient’s confidence and self-esteem back, and the results have to be seen to be believed. He’s eager to offer you this level of care, but before you have a chance to meet him, you can start getting to know Dr. Shah below.

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Shah was always fascinated by science growing up, and as he got older, this helped him realize that healthcare was what he wanted to pursue as a career. He started shadowing his dentist in high school and became fascinated with dentistry and how it improves patients’ lives. He has always been a people person as well, and dentistry allows him to build a great rapport with new faces all the time, which is very rewarding.

Where Did You
Study Dentistry?

Dr. Shah earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from the Honors College at West Virginia University. He then obtained his dental degree from the West Virginia University School of Dentistry.

Following dental school, Dr. Shah went on to complete a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program at the VA Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina. During this time, he provided comprehensive dental care to our nation’s veterans using all aspects of dentistry, including dental implants, oral surgery, periodontics, endodontics, restorative dentistry, veneers, and digital dentistry. Since then, he has earned additional certifications in nitrous oxide sedation and Botox treatment.

Dr. Shah is an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the North Carolina Dental Society. He is committed to continuing education to provide his patients with the best, most up-to-date dental care, which is why he takes part in the South Charlotte Study Club.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Born in India, Dr. Shah came to the U.S. in the early 2000s and made his home in Hurricane, WV. His parents still live there, and his sister also became a dentist and owns multiple practices in the Kansas City area. When he is not serving patients, Dr. Shah enjoys traveling, exploring Charlotte, watching sports, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.
